Xbox sales up in UK

10 Sep 2007 15:52

Xbox console very popular in the UK Following on from the recent news that UK sales of the Nintendo Wii have reached the magic one million mark, it has transpired that another top-notch console is doing particularly well with British consumers.

According to figures from Chart-Track, the Xbox 360 has had a rather good week, with a whopping 260 per cent week-on-week increase in sales.

This jump in sales, as noted by MCV, coincided with the launch of the Xbox Elite as well as the drop in price of the Premium and Core versions of the platform.

At the same time, another console has seen its performance in shops up and down the country take a bit of a nose dive.

The handheld PSP has apparently experienced a dip in sales, which MCV has attributed to the forthcoming release of the new Slim and Lite models, which are due to be launched on September 14th this year.

It seems that eager gamers are waiting to get their hands on the updated models and are passing up the chance to buy the 'old' one.
