Samsung's mobile TV

02 Aug 2007 15:00

The Samsung SGH-F500 Ultra Video As the world and its dog seem to be making just about everything much, much bigger, one company has thrown caution to the wind and decided to make something much, much smaller!

Samsung has come up with what looks to be the world's smallest telly - and it comes in the form of a rather snazzy mobile phone. This is pretty interesting stuff folks, so listen up.

The Samsung SGH-F500 Ultra Video is the first mobile to be DivX Certified. Unsure what this means? Don't sweat it, all this means is that it's the fist telephonic communicator to make use of swish DivX technology.

As such, the SGH-F500 has a built-in audio player with sound and picture quality comparable to that of a DVD, as well as the ability to watch Stage 6 (a website, rather like YouTube, owned by Divx) content, reports Hardwarezone.com.

Commenting on the phone, Spencer Shim, president and chief executive officer for Samsung Philippines, said: "High video quality should not just be limited to large TV screens.

"The Ultra Video highlights our passion to leverage on our multimedia capabilities to satisfy consumers' leisure and entertainment needs, and we have advanced from a product provider to a total solution provider through our partnership with DivX."
