LG reduces price of dual format player

05 Sep 2007 11:30

LG has reduced the price of its dual format HD DVD player: The BH200 player Oo we love a bit of a bargain. Particularly if it means that we will be able to tap into two rather interesting corners of the technological market.

As such, you can imagine how pleased we are to be able to tell you that LG is going to reduce the price of its high-def DVD player which supports both Blu-ray and HD DVD formats - perfect for those of you who are a bit indecisive!

The electronics firm revealed today (Wednesday, September 5th) that it is going to knock 16 per cent off the price of its forthcoming BH200 player and retail it for $999 (£500).

It is due to hit the shops in North America in mid-October this year and has a wide array of great features including advanced BD-Java and HDi technology.

At present, a stand-alone Blu-ray Disc player has an average recommended retail price of about $500 (£250) while a stand alone HD DVD player is generally priced at approximately $400 (£200).
