Don't wait until the dust settles

That is according to electronics website Retrevo, which has analysed reviews from users and experts as well as important features of various Blu-ray and HD DVD machines to determine which are the top high-def DVD players.
According to the site, the fact that the war between the two formats is not showing any sign of a close is no reason to hold back from buying a player and miss out on top-quality content.
Andrew Eisner of Retrevo, said: "We can understand why you might be inclined to wait until the dust settles but frankly we're not sure a winning format will emerge anytime soon.
"A more likely scenario will be a price war making it harder to resist the ultimate home theatre experience. If you've never seen a high definition DVD played on an HDTV set, you're in for an eye opening experience."
Other players considered to be worth buying include the Toshiba HD-30, the Sony BDP-S2000ES and the Toshiba HD-A3.
