Bravia range adopts new projector
30 Jan 2008 17:00Sony has unveiled the latest addition to its popular Bravia range with a brand new high definition (HD) projector.
The manufacturer has this week launched the VPL-VW40, which it claims offers full 1080p HD and creates the best possible cinematic experience by utilising Sony's Silicon X-tal Reflective Display (SXRD) technology.
It is suggested that SXRD, which was originally intended for use in traditional cinema projection systems, will use super-fine micro-architecture and a 2.5ms response time to offer a smoother response and more precise colour resolution.
Commenting on the unit, Sony Europe's product manager for projectors Nicola Plump said that the extra features would mean the VPL-VW40 will be an ideal choice for the discerning home cinema fan.
"It offers features typically only available on far more expensive projectors, principally Full HD and SXRD There's nothing else offering so much at this price, which is why we expect this projector to be a very popular product," she said.
Sony's Bravia technology is more typically associated with the company's popular range of high performance LCD TVs.
