A high definition 'first' from Panasonic

10 Mar 2008 17:22

A HD first from Panasonic The latest 32-inch LCD panel from Panasonic achieves something that the manufacturer had previously been unable to achieve, according to a new review.

In an article for the Trusted Reviews website it is noted that the TX-32LZD80 comes with quite a "weight of expectation on its shoulders" but with a full HD pixel count the unit is the "rarest of things".

It is noted that the TX-32LZD80 represents the first time Panasonic has put managed to do this and adds that with three HDMI inputs, a built-in SD card slot and "a seriously potent" 10,000:1 contrast ratio, the screen has a great deal to offer.

However, one unexpected weakness of the screen is its black level response, which is referred to as "uninspiring" although colour reproduction is something which is praised.

"I can't remember a 32in TV that's done a better job of making the tricky Blade Runner Blu-ray's skin tones look realistic, or portrayed the subtle colours of the futuristic, neon-lit city walls so accurately," the article states.

According to Tech Radar, Panasonic's improved its 103-inch plasma TV recently to feature better wall mount configuration and improved video processing.
